I have been so busy lately. From SSWA (Student Social Work Association) to one of my best friend's wedding coming up shortly to school in general, I'm really feeling like I need a nap, to the say the least. This weekend I went home to Hillsboro, Ohio for my friend's Bridal Shower. How exciting! We are growing up! The wedding is in May and I think I may be more excited than she is. (It doesn't take much to amuse me)
Anyways, SSWA is going great. I am really becoming involved and I like it! We are doing so much fun stuff. We made hygiene packets for a homeless shelter, we're attending the annual awards banquet for social workers in Central Ohio and guess what?!? Someone from Capital is receiving an award! WAY TO GO! Capital produces some awesome social workers, if I do say so myself. This month, as I already have said in a previous blog is social work month so we've been handing out material about social workers and finally, at the end of the month we will be hosting EMPTY BOWLS. This is a "soup kitchen" style dinner that raises money for the Mid Ohio Food Bank. Various organizations around campus made clay bowls and they will be distributed. Everyone is welcome to attend so if you need something to do the night of March 25th just stop on by the Campus Center for some soup!
Well, only about two months to go and I'm done for the summer. I can't believe it - my first year of college has flown right by me! These last months are going to be tough as I have alot of projects and exams, but it will all be worth it on May 3rd when I have the whole summer to relax.
