Jim Collins Wins Lee Tressel Ohio College Coach of the Year Award
(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)--Capital University head football coach Jim Collins has been selected to receive the 2006 Lee Tressel Ohio College Coach-of-the-Year Award. Collins will be honored at the 19th Annual Scholar-Athlete Awards Banquet of the Northeastern Ohio Chapter of the National Football Foundation. The banquet will be held on Tuesday, May 8 at LaCentre in Westlake.

Four Capital Football Players Named All-Americans By Football Gazette
(WESTMONT, Ill.)--Junior wide receiver Derick Alexander (Grove City/Grove City), senior tight end Dylan Kelly (Hilliard/Hilliard Darby), junior placekicker Matt Spitz (Xenia/Xenia) and junior defensive back James Starks (Toledo/Toledo-St. Francis) have been named All-Americans by Football Gazette.

Collins and 10 Crusaders Named to Football Gazette All-North Region Team
(NORTH AURORA, Ill.)--Capital University head coach Jim Collins was named North Region Coach of the Year and 10 Crusaders earned All-North Region Honors from Football Gazette.

Football Posts Another Record Breaking Season in 2006
For the second straight season, Capital University’s football team set a school record for wins and advanced to the Division III national quarterfinals.

Pentello Headlines Four Named to D3Football.com All-American Teams
(NORWALK, Conn.)--Capital University senior quarterback Rocky Pentello (Columbus/Westerville South) was named first team All-American by D3football.com. Pentello was one of four Crusaders named All-American.

(NORWALK, Conn.)--Capital University senior quarterback Rocky Pentello (Columbus/Westerville South), junior wide receiver Derick Alexander (Grove City/Grove City), senior center Josh Kinniard (Lancaster/Lancaster), senior tight end Dylan Kelly (Hilliard/Hilliard Darby) and junior offensive lineman Adam Persing (Springfield Township/Springfield) were named to the 2006 D3Football.com All-North Region Team.

(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)--Capital University senior football players Steve Leppert (Cincinnati/Princeton), Sam Abdullah (Worthington/Thomas Worthington) and Eric Calland (Westerville/Westerville South) were named Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference.

Football Playoff Run Ends at Mount Union
(ALLIANCE, Ohio)—For the second year in a row, Mount Union College rallied in the fourth quarter to beat Capital University, 17-14, in the national quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Football Championship Saturday in Alliance, Ohio.

(ADA, Ohio)—For the second week in a row it took a fourth quarter rally for the #4 Capital University football team to get a win as they scored a 17-10 Ohio Athletic Conference victory at #17 Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio.

(UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio)—Senior quarterback Rocky Pentello (Columbus/Westerville South) completed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Kelly (Hilliard/Hilliard Darby) with 58 seconds left as Capital University’s football team, ranked No. 3 in the nation, rallied for a 24-21 Ohio Athletic Conference football win at John Carroll University in University Heights, Ohio.

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)--Capital University’s football team, ranked No. 3 in the nation, scored 21 points in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter to pull away from Marietta College for a 52-10 Ohio Athletic Conference victory Saturday in Columbus.

(TIFFIN, Ohio)--Rocky Pentello (Columbus/Westerville South) completed 18-of-22 passes for 301 yards and matched a career-high with four touchdown passes to lead Capital University to a 65-7 Ohio Athletic Conference football win at Heidelberg College in Tiffin.
