(ATLANTA, Ga.)--Capital University head women's basketball coach Dixie Jeffers will be honored at the NCAA Women's Final Four in Cleveland as part of the Russell Athletic/Women's Basketball Coaches Association Victory Club.
Jeffers along with other coaches that have earned a milestone win this past season will be honored during the Russell Athletic/WBCA National Coach of the Year Luncheon presented by AstraZeneca on Monday, April 2, 2007, at 12:00 p.m. (ET) in the Crowne Plaza's Grand Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio. This event is part of the 2007 WBCA National Convention, held in conjunction with the NCAA® Women's Final Four®.
Jeffers became just the fifth coach in NCAA Division III history to amass 500 wins with a 69-63 win over Wittenberg University on November 25, 2006. In her 24th year as a college basketball coach, Jeffers has a 518-139 record (52-21 in three seasons at the University of Rio Grande and a 466-118 mark in 21 seasons at Capital).
Other coaches to be honored at the event include former University of Texas coach Jody Conradt, N.C. State coach Kay Yow and Connecticut's Geno Auriemma.
