Tianshu Wang to Present "On Wings of Song" March 21
Pianist Tianshu Wang, an assistant professor in the Conservatory of Music, will give a recital at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in Huntington Recital Hall.
In “On Wings of Song,” Wang will perform the music of Schubert, Tan Dun, Mendelssohn and Liszt. The performance is free and open to the public.
Acclaimed by the press as a superbly talented pianist who plays with “prodigious technique and eloquent phrasing,” Wang has appeared on concert stages in the United States, China and Mexico. She also has received invitations to perform in Europe, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore. She is the winner of many competitions, including the first prize in the National Young Artist Piano Competition in Colorado.
In 1996, she was selected to perform in the “Showcase of Talent” concert at the prestigious Van Cliburn Piano Institute in Fort Worth, Texas, and in summer 2002, she performed in the opening concert of “The 5th Shenyang International Music Festival.”
