(LOCKBOURNE, Ohio)--Capital University men's golf team finsihed tied for fourth place with a 655 at the Capital Purple & White Invitational at the Foxfire Golf Club just south of Columbus, Ohio.
The Crusaders and Ohio Northern University tied for fourth place, 15 shots behind third place Shawnee State (640). Otterbein College won the event with a 606 (297-309), while Muskingum College placed second with a 638 (315-323).
After shooting even par on the Foxfire course Friday, Shawnee State's Koby Vogler fired a two-over 74 on the Players Club course to take Medalist honors with a 146. That was two shots better than Otterbein's Andy Miller (73-75=148).
Capital was led by the freshmen duo of James Koon (Bexley/Bexley) (82-79=161) and Dan Zaborsky (Dublin/Dublin Scioto) (80-81=161) who both finished tied for 20th. Junior Mike Ott (Columbus/Franklin Heights) carded a pair of 81's to finish in a tie for 22nd, while freshman Scott King (Fremont/Fremont Ross) rounded out the Crusader scoring with a 172 (79-93).
Capital hits the links next weekend at the Ted Barclay Invitational at the Granville Golf Club in Granville, Ohio.
