(WOOSTER, Ohio)--Junior Mike Ott (Columbus/Franklin Heights) finished in tie for 10th place as he carded a two-day total of 157 (79-78), and the Capital University men's golf team placed ninth at the Nye Intercollegiate at the Wooster Country Club in Wooster, Ohio.
Ott finished eight shots behind tournament medalist Andy Miller (79-70=149) of Otterbein College. Miller led the Cardinals to the team title (328-302=630).
A trio of freshmen tallied the rest of the scoring for Capital as James Koon (Bexley/Bexley) fired a 166 (82-84), Scott King (Fremont/Fremont Ross) had a 171 (90-81), and Chas Manning (Granville/Granville) rounded out the scoring with a 177 (82-95).
The Crusaders had a two-day total of 671 (333-338) which left them 15 strokes behind eighth place Muskingum College (656).
Capital competes next week at the ONU Invitaitonal at Colonial Golfers Club outside of Lima, Ohio, as the final tune-up before the OAC Championships hosted by Capital on April 25-27 at the Cumberland Trail Golf Course in Pataskala, Ohio.
