(STARKVILLE, Miss.)--Three Capital softball players were named to the 2007 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III All-Central Region Softball Team. Junior Lindsay Shepherd (Phillipsburg/Northmont) earned first team honors, while senior Jackie Burris (Beach Park, Ill./Warren Township) and freshman Sam Kennedy (Delaware/Delaware Hayes) were named to the second team.
Shepherd, a two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference first team selection, led the team in batting average (.478), hits (65), runs (45), steals (47) and was an All-Region pick last year.
Burris topped the team with 33 RBI and was second in batting average with .449. She was a two-time All-OAC, All-Region, Academic All-OAC selection and was also named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Second Team this year.
Kennedy was the team's third best hitter (.414 batting average) and fifth in the OAC. She also was second on the team and fifth in the OAC with 55 hits.
The Crusaders finished the season with a 25-17 record.
