Strickland led the fight to keep our promises to America’s veterans and to ensure that U.S. troops have life-saving armor and equipment. He also helped author the Children’s Health Insurance Program, a federal initiative that now provides health insurance to millions of children of working parents. And he’s brought millions in investments to Ohio for roads, technology, economic development and health initiatives.
Strickland holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Asbury College in Kentucky, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a doctoral degree in counseling psychology from the University of Kentucky. He will be presented with an honorary doctor of laws degree during the commencement ceremony.
