Robert Thorne joined the Capital University staff in August 2003 and currently serves the athletic training needs of the football and baseball programs.

Prior to coming to Capital, Thorne served as Assistant Athletic Trainer at Wisconsin-Stevens Point for two years. He completed a Master's degree in Kinesiology/Athletic Training at The University of Virginia and his Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training at Ohio University. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainer's Association and NSCA.

Robert and his wife Susan reside in Bexley.

Bonnie Goodwin joined the faculty and staff of Capital University 15 years ago.  Bonnie currently serves as the director for the athletic training education program, clinical coordinator and athletic trainer responsible for women's soccer.

Prior to working at Capital, Goodwin worked at Providence College in Providence Rhode Island. Bonnie is a graduate of the University of Florida where she completed her Master's of Exercise and Sport Science.  Her Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and Health Education was completed at Ohio University. 

Currently Goodwin is member of the Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association (OATA), a member of the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) Annual Report Audit Committee, a Board of Certification (BOC) Home Study Reviewer as well as a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. 

Bonnie, her husband Charles and daughters, Amanda and Charley reside in Columbus.

Benjy Pester

Benjy Pester is in his third season as an assistant athletic trainer at Capital.  Aside from being the head athletic trainer for men's basketball he also works with the football team in the Fall.

A 2003 graduate of Capital, Pester served as a graduate assistant at The Ohio State University where he earned a master's degree in Allied Health Education.  While with the Buckeyes, Pester worked with the football and tennis teams.

Pester is a BOC certified athletic trainer and approved clinical instructor.  He is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the National Strength Coaches Association.

Benjy and his wife, a former Capital women's soccer player, Jenny Brecht, reside in Hilliard.

Dan Clapper

Dan Clapper is in his second year as an assistant athletic trainer at Capital.  Dan is responsible for the athletic training needs for men's soccer, women's basketball and softball.

The Scottsville, Michigan, native earned a bachelor's degree from Michigan State University and a master's degree from The Ohio State University.  He spent a year as an athletic training intern with the NHL's Columbus Bluejackets.

Dan, his wife Lori, and daughter Jenna reside in Westerville and when not in gym he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping and golf.

Laura Boucher is in her fifth year as an assistant athletic trainer at Capital.  Laura is responsible for the athletic training needs for volleyball, men's and women's cross country and track & field programs.

The Amherst, N.Y., native earned a bachelor's degree from Ohio University and a master's degree from The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. 

Laura resides in Blacklick with her husband Erick and her son Matthew.
