What do I need to do to get on the network? Capital University is pleased to offer both wired and wireless network access on campus! To help secure and protect the network infrastructure, a network admission control system (NAC) called “Clean Access” is in place to ensure that all computers pass the necessary security requirements. |
| Windows XP must have service pack 3 (SP3) installed | Windows Vista must have service pack 1 (SP1) installed |
| Windows systems must have Firewalls enabled | Windows updates must be current on all Window machines |
| All Macintosh and Windows PCs must have current anti-virus software installed (ex: Symantec) | You should scan and remove any contaminates (ex: viruses, worms, etc.) |
You will be required to download and install the Clean Access Agent to your computer system. Detailed instructions on how to perform some of these tasks can be found on this web site: http://nacremediation.capital.edu.
Installing the clean access agent is a simple process and most can perform this task without much difficulty, however, if you need assistance, visit the IT Service Desk (Located in the basement of Blackmore Library):
Microsoft Office 2007 Tutorials
Many users have been upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007. Microsoft 2007 user interface is very different from Office 2003. To get acclimated, the department is providing the campus community with links to interactive tutorials from Microsoft that will aid in the transition.
