English as a Second Language (ESL) Tuition

  • Tuition  for 4 terms - $10,000

So the total estimated cost for one year of ESL study (document for I-20) is $20,050

Full-time ESL students pay $2,500 tuition per eight-week term (20 credit hours). The part-time rate is $125 per credit hour. There is no tuition deposit or pre-payment requirement before starting classes. Payment is due the first week of classes. Students living on campus pay for room and board at the beginning of each semester.

Room & Board Fees for 2008-2009

  • Double (shared) room and 225-meal plan is $3,575 per semester or $7,150 a year
  • Single room and 225-meal plan is $3,995 per semester or $7,990 a year
  • Cap Commons Apartment (4-person occupancy) is $3,200 per year for each resident or $12,800 per apartment a year
  • College Avenue Residence Hall suite-style double (shared) room and 225-meal plan is $4,125 per semester or $8,250 a year
  • College Avenue Residence Hall suite-style single room and 225-meal plan is $4,545 per semester or $9,090 a year
  • Summer School housing is $110 per week

Please note that changes must occur within the first two weeks of each semester. Making an adjustment on your billing worksheet does not constitute a change with Capital.  The amounts for the changes are as follows: 

  • 175-meal plan: subtract $165 per semester
  • 125-meal plan: subtract $330 per semester
  • 75-meal plan for juniors or seniors: subtract $330 per semester
