Tuition for English as a Second Language (ESL)
- The tuition rate for ESL courses is $127.50 per credit hour. Every ESL course is 5 credit hours ($637.50).
- A full-time student takes 4 courses, which costs $2,550 per term (8 weeks).
Students who need an I-20 must submit financial documentation for the length of their study. For example, students planning to study ESL one year would need to show $20,610 which includes the following:
- Tuition - $10,200 (4 terms)
- Estimated living expenses (Room & Board) - $7,510
- Estimated books, insurance, supplies - $2,900
There is no tuition deposit or pre-payment requirement for ESL students before starting classes. Payment is due the first week of every ESL term. Students living on campus pay for room and board at the beginning of each semester.

Double (shared) room and 225-meal plan is $3,755 per semester or $7,510 a year
Single room and 225-meal plan is $ 4,210 per semester or $8,420 a year
Cap Commons Apartment (4-person occupancy) is $3,300 per year for each resident or $13,320 per apartment a year
College Avenue Residence Hall suite-style double (shared) room and 225-meal plan is $4,330 per semester or $8,660 a year
College Avenue Residence Hall suite-style single room and 225-meal plan is $4,765 per semester or $9,530 a year
- Capital University Apartments (2 students per apartment) is $6,370 for 9 months and $8,120 for 12 months billed per student per term)
Summer School housing is $115 per week

Please note that changes must occur within the first two weeks of each semester. Making an adjustment on your billing worksheet does not constitute a change with Capital. The amounts for the changes are as follows:
- 175-meal plan: subtract $175 per semester
- 125-meal plan: subtract $350 per semester
- 75-meal plan for juniors or seniors: subtract $350 per semester
