(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)---Evan Blake (Kingston/Logan Elm) and Jonathan Spring (Maple Heights/Trinity), a pair of Capital University football players, picked up Ohio Athletic Conference Player-of-the-Week honors for their roles in Capital's 40-0 victory Saturday over Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
Blake was awarded the OAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his record-setting afternoon. Blake set a school record with 304 receiving yards on 11 catches in the win, with the 304 yards placing him fifth all-time in OAC history for reception yards in a single game.
Blake, a business management major, is the son of Rex and Ann Blake of Kingston.
Spring earned the OAC Special Teams Player-of-the-Week because of his 33-yard touchdown return of a blocked punt in the third quarter.
Spring, a financial economics major, is the son of Robert and Candace Spring of Parma.
