Women's Soccer Pitches Another Shutout; Capital 1, Defiance 0

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)--Capital University shutout Defiance College, 1-0, in a non-conference women's soccer game Sunday at Bernlohr Stadium in Columbus. 

For the Crusaders, it was their fourth win in their last five starts moving them to 5-2-1 on the season.  Capital has allowed only one goal over the last 450 minutes of game action.  Defiance falls to 1-6 overall after the loss.

The game's lone goal came in the 34th minute when senior Rebecca Gardlik (Cincinnati/Finneytown) fed freshman Katie Kranz (Cincinnati/Anderson) and she pushed it past Yellow Jacket keeper Andrea Galbraith for her first collegiate goal.

Sophomore Erica Shannon (Whitehall/Bishop Hartley) had a pair of saves as she posted her first shutout of the season.

Capital plays its non-conference finale Wednesday at 5 p.m. at The College of Mount St. Joseph in Cincinnati, Ohio.
