(SPRINGFIELD, Ohio)--No. 22 ranked Capital University knocked off No. 24 ranked Hiram College, 3-1 (27-30, 30-24, 30-22, 30-25) then lost to No. 2 ranked Wittenberg University, 3-0 (30-27, 30-13, 30-25) in a tri-match in Springfield, Ohio.
In the win versus Hiram, Capital got 20 kills from sophomore Sarah Gallick (Chagrin Falls/Kenston) along with 12 kills and 16 digs from senior Jessie Hampson (Lancaster/Lancaster).
The loss to Wittenberg stopped a 13-match win streak as Hampson had nine kills, six digs and a block, while Jenna Zumberger (DeGraff/Fairlawn) had 23 digs and Laura Buzenski (New Albany/Bishop Hartley) had 10 digs.
Capital travels Tuesday to Muskingum College for an Ohio Athletic Conference contest in New Concord, Ohio.
