
Chad Loughrige, originally from Celina, Ohio, holds a BM in Music Media from Capital University. As an experienced drummer of 18 years, he has played professionally with numerous touring groups including The West Ohio Big Band, The and lecturer at The Recording Workshop in Chillicothe, Ohio, and has been involved in many freelance audio, video, and Tropics Island Band, and the pop-rock group, Keywise. Chad spent seven years employed as an audio engineer, instructor, media endeavors.
Chad spends much of his time in the recording studio writing, producing, and recording his own work. He has also worked with many notable Central Ohio bands including Earwig, Underhero, Miss Molly, The Andy Shaw Band, and Hawkline. His most recent project was with the online media company, Tutorial Depot, as the author and host of “How To: Record Drums.” Chad is fulfilling his life-long dream as an Assistant Professor at Capital University, teaching many Music Technology related classes such as “The History and Production of Digital Electronic Music.” He has also had the pleasure of becoming the new director of the Capital University MIDI Band. Founded in 1987 by Dr. Rocky J. Reuter, the MIDI Band is one of the first ensembles of its type in the nation.
