Women's Soccer Drops Regular-Season Finale to Polar Bears

(COLUMBUS, Ohio)---Capital University's women's soccer team fell 3-1 to Ohio Northern University Friday at Bernlohr Stadium in an Ohio Athletic Conference match and the Crusaders' final regular season game of the season.

Ohio Northern (11-4-2, 8-0-1 OAC) wins the OAC regular season title and the No. 1 seed in next week's OAC Tournament.  Capital finishes the regular season with a record of 12-5-1 and an OAC mark of 7-2.  The Crusaders will be the No. 2 seed in week's OAC Tournament and host a semifinal match on Thursday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. in Bernlohr Stadium.

Both teams failed to convert scoring chances in a tightly contested scoreless first half.  Ohio Northern got on the board just under four minutes into the second half then took advantage of the momentum with a goal 10 minutes later.  The Polar Bears removed all doubt with a final score in the 76th minute.

The Crusaders avoided the shutout with a goal from freshman Paige Prescott (Murfreesboro, Tenn./Siegel) in the 78th minute.
