The Fall Colors...

Hello again!
Well, it’s that time of year again when the air has that biting chill and the leaves turn different shades of red, yellow, and brown, which is surprisingly pleasing to the eye this time of year. That’s right folks, fall is here! Along with the beauty of this season come the lovely family gatherings with tons of food (which means left-overs for the fridge when I return to school) and tons of stories that bring about laughter, inquiries, and amazement! I got to enjoy these colors and share stories with fellow students and staff this past weekend which also turned out to be a big gathering!
This past weekend there were hundreds of potential Crusaders on our campus, and I became very excited to see so many people interested in our awesome university! To all of you who visited I would just like to thank you for coming and I hope you truly enjoyed what Capital has to offer you.
As I was walking around and watching all of the families go from one station to the next, it reminded me of my first college visit (which actually was Capital). I was so nervous. I did not know where I was supposed to go, I did not know who I should and should not talk to, until suddenly a young man came up to me, noticing my obvious troubled look on my face, and simply started talking to me. He asked me questions about where I was from, what I was looking at majoring in and other questions and made me feel more comfortable with the atmosphere and the situation which I was in. Not only did he introduce himself, but he also introduced me to various student ambassadors who were genuinely willing to talk to me and get to know me. This was my first experience with Capital University students who were willing to reach out to other people who were not a part of their tight-knit “community”.
All this being said, I went home that night, filled out my application and sent it in. I visited other colleges both big and small and never felt the same genuine care from the other students on the campuses that I felt from Capital University. The other colleges did not receive an application, Capital was my only choice for a college career and I have not regretted it for a second!
