Break...A well needed one!

Oh man! I will have to take a few days to recuperate from the amazing meal that devoured me…yeah, I didn’t stand a chance. From the endless amounts turkey to the never-ending supply of pumpkin pie, the day was amazing.
I love being home for the holidays, everyone asking you the same questions they asked you last year: “How’s school going?”; “Any lady-friends yet!?”; “What are you majoring in again?”. But, the questions never get old, it is nice to know that my family is interested in what I am doing, even if, after I tell them that I am going into politics, the heckling begins and the jokes don’t stop (yes, they are always the same jokes too!).
This is why I really enjoy the way our breaks are set up here at Capital. You are home just long enough to enjoy your family and then, just when you are realizing that you need to get back to school to do things your way again, you can. I love my family, don’t get me wrong, but man-o-man can they drive me bonkers, especially with the stress of Christmas shopping just around the corner!
My mom and dad tried to get me to go shopping on BLACK FRIDAY!!! First of all, I am not a big shopper and second, that’s at like 3 o’clock in the morning!!! Absurd!!! But, lucky me, I was allowed to sleep and then hear all the horror stories they had to offer. From the length of the line, to my dad complaining the entire time…HA HA! (he isn’t a big shopper either). But, I did get a new printer out of the deal! I have been needing one for awhile. So, I guess Black Friday isn’t all that bad ?
Well, I return back to school on Monday, but not before my co-ed Christian-service fraternity, Sigma Alpha Beta, has their social event on Sunday called “Supper, Sweets, and Saved” where we are going to have a Thanksgiving dinner, dessert, and watch the movie “Saved.” I am pretty excited for more food, especially because by then, I should have recovered from my relaxing and uneventful break (just the way I like it!).
I hope everyone had a super fantastic Thanksgiving and enjoyed the time they got to spend with their family and friends. Remember, happy times are always found around the ones we love and until next time, take what Aristotle once said “Happiness depends on ourselves” and make your holidays happy and memorable!
