There is nothing more stressful than the final two weeks of the Fall Semester! In the past two days alone, I have been assigned four papers, three PowerPoint presentations, two major events, and a partridge in a pear tree. Well maybe not the final thing, but I wouldn’t mind a pear tree :)
All four papers are on different policy aspects (environmental, education, migration, commercial) and the PowerPoints are on migration of immigrants and my career choice! Talk about your fun stuff (note the sarcasm). I’ll be spending the next several nights writing these 15-20 page papers and sleeping very little. Because, on top of all the homework I also get to, in my capacity as Greek Council Vice President of Programming, plan Snowball. This is traditionally a winter dance held exclusively for Greeks, but this year Greek Council teamed up with University Programming to hold a campus wide event. Thankfully, UP has done a lot and I’m proud to have worked with this organization to bring some holiday fun to all of campus. It's this week’s Wicked Wednesday and I advise all to take part! My other event is the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run through downtown Columbus, on Saturday morning. The Jingle Bell Run will raise some much needed money for research and to help a great many individuals with arthritis. Kappa Sigma Upsilon, my fraternity, as well as the sororities and a couple of fraternities on campus, will be taking part in this charitable event!
As you can see, I’m swamped! It all comes with being a college student (and better time management some would say, but to which I am adamantly opposed to) and having the tons of responsibilities dumped on you, and having to react and decide what you want to do. I’m counting the days till break, when I can groove to Hairspray, violate my diet for Christmas fudge, and get snowed in. Only 16 more days…
