(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)--Capital University junior forward Caitlin Elsass (Batavia/Clermont Northeastern) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Elsass scored 20 points and converted a three-point-play to tie the game and send it to overtime as the Crusaders grabbed a 72-64 win Saturday at Baldwin-Wallace. Elsass came right back the next day and scored 17 of her game-high 21 points in the second half to rally Capital to a 66-58 win over No. 7-ranked Washington (Mo.) University.
On the season, Elsass is the Crusaders second-leading scorer (15.8 points per game) and top rebounder (6.3 rebounds per game).
Capital travels to Wilmington College for a key OAC matchup at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Wilmington, Ohio. The game will be broadcast LIVE on the radio on WFCO 90.9 FM starting at 7:15 p.m. with the Capital Countdown pregame show.
