Third Different Crusader to Earn Conference Honor This Season

(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)--Capital University junior Caitlin Graessle (Galloway/Bishop Ready) was named Ohio Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week.

Graessle scored 25 of her career-high 38 points in the first half as the Crusaders scored an 80-70 win over Defiance College last Saturday.  Graessle hit 13-of-17 shots from the floor including 7-of-10 from three-point range.  Her 38 points was the second-highest single game total for a player in school history, three points behind the school-record 41 points of Sandy Buddlemeyer against Heidelberg during the 1990-91 season.

Graessle is the team's third-leading scorer (12.7 ppg) and has a team-best 19 steals.  She is an Education major and the daughter of Joe and Mary Kay Graessle of Galloway.

Capital next plays Saturday, Jan. 5, at 3 p.m. traveling to Marietta, Ohio for an OAC matchup at Marietta College.
