The Capital Oboe Studio is a close-knit group of oboists who inspire and
support each other. They can often be found whittling away at reeds
together in the Reed Room which is equipped with a gouging machine,
shaper and other tools. Oboe students at the Capital Conservatory have
the opportunity to play in several of our outstanding ensembles such as:
- Capital University-Bexley Community Orchestra
Performance opportunities are abundant at the weekly departmental and full conservatory recitals as well as evening concerts. The oboe curriculum focuses on developing both expressive and technical aspects of oboe performance, learning how to become your own teacher, and entering the professional world as well as fundamental training in reed-making and the English horn.
