Wednesday News!

Geeze, I can't believe it's almost February! Time sure flies when you're having fun. :)

So I'm finally starting to get used to my new classes this semester. I have to say that I love basically every class I'm taking this semester. Sure, you're going to have homework, papers and tests... but I really think that I'm going to learn alot this semester.. so I'm excited!

I think I've decided where I want to study abroad as well. I've been hoping to study in Mexico during the spring quarter of my junior year, and I recently started looking for colleges and programs. The one I liked the best is in Guanajuato, Mexico, I get to stay with a Mexican family (so I'm immersed in the culture) and we take 5 or 6 trips on Saturdays, including seeing Teotihuacán and all the ruins and the beautiful Puerto Vallarta. I have a long time to decide, but it sounds amazing!

I have also adopted a fish and a frog! :) The fish is a Tequila Sunrise Guppy and is named Sunshine (because it's orange, red and yellow) and the frog is named Sparkles. They seem to be very happy in their new home here at Cap, but they aren't eating anything! Are there any fish/frog experts out there?

I also found out that I made the Dean's List for the first semester of my Freshman year! YAYY!

Alright, I better get some homework accomplished. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message!

    Hey Caitlin,

I just wanted to drop you an email and ask you a few questions. I am accepted at Capital and look forward to attending in the fall.

What are you majoring in? How do you like the classes and the professors? I come from a really small private high school and look forward to that continued personal attention. I saw that you're interested in Spanish, very cool! I spent a month in Spain last year and look forward to studying it in college. How are the Spanish programs?

    Thanks,

Hey Andrew! Thanks for the comment & congratulations on being accepted at Capital!

I'm a double-major in Spanish and International Studies & I have loved every professor I have had a class with so far. They really try to make your time and money worthwhile and keep you interested. I've also realized during my few months here that every class I take relates to at least one other class I'm taking. I don't know about you, but it makes me feel good when a professor asks a question and you know the answer! :)

I'm so jealous that you spent some time overseas in Spain! I'm hoping to go this summer at some point, and I'm planning on studying abroad in Mexico during my Junior year. I'm really happy that you're interested in Spanish as well, it's such an amazing language that is so useful. Consider majoring or minoring in it, because it can definitely take you places.

If you have any other questions, feel free to send me an email at cladie@capital.edu

    Have a great weekend!
