So let’s start off by congratulating two people:
First off, I would like to congratulate Baby Manning on his victory against the undefeated Patriots. Even though your team beat my team, I guess it is always good to see the underdog win
Second of all, I would like to congratulate Hillary Clinton on her astounding victories on Super Tuesday! What a great day for her!
Now for my week..
It is here, folks! My third and final week of rushing has come and gone, and let me tell you, it was a fabulous time! The sisters of Zeta, Pi Phi, and Chi all did a wonderful job with decorating the mezz and making it a very special time for us recruits. I am so so so SO glad I went through this process. There are so many people who helped me along the way, and I’m pretty sure they know who they are, and I would like to thank you all! The recruitment experience…I’m hoping this is just the beginning for me! Tonight is bid night, and I find out which sorority invites me to join their organization, and I’m a bit nervous. But hopefully, everything will turn out great. :D
Another thing I really enjoyed this week was actually last night. Last night’s Wicked Wednesday dealt with sex education and how to prevent STD’s and AIDS. So, we had a presenter from the Columbus AIDS Task Force, and played Sex Ed Jeopardy. There were three teams, and some girls from my hall and I played against two other teams. Sadly, we came in second place due to a faulty answer in the final question, but with our team of nurses and psych majors, I think we did pretty well! It was a fun night altogether.
There have been quite a lot of things due this week, and midterms are this week and next week for me…so I’ve been studying quite a bit. I’ve been playing the balancing game lately..
And yesterday was of course the infamous Ash Wednesday. I’ve made a list of promises to myself that I hope to keep throughout the 40 days.
Also, I would like to comment on something that Ross mentioned in his blog. In high school, I was one of those people who wore my mom and the rest of my family out by doing so many things at once. I was super involved. However, when I came to college, I found myself in a whole new environment. I agree with Ross when he says don’t stretch yourself thin. This is the place where you really must focus and bare down on your education. Yes, have fun, because that is another big part of college. But choose a few organizations that you really are interested in and focus your time there. You’ll most likely be a lot happier, and maybe a lot less tired. (Hopefully. I’m not promising anything)
I really hope you all are doing well, because I know I am. Stay healthy! There are too many things to do in this world, and being sick isn’t one of them that I’d recommend. Wash your hands. :D
Love and happiness,
<3 heather
PS Did anyone see Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Conan O Brian have the fight? I thought it was pure genius. :D
PPS Oh! Wow! I totally forgot to tell you about my birthday! It was fantastic, and I had a new baby cousin born! It's also really cool to have a birthday at college and with the power of facebook, because a billion people tell you happy birthday, and you get packages in the mail room, which is awesome. :D Okay, that's it.
