Happy Valentine's Day!

So, after three busy weeks of rushing, I am proud to say that I am a new member of Chi Theta Pi sorority! I am sooo glad I made the decision to rush, I met a bunch of new people, and I am so excited to have gotten new sisters out of the process! Now starts the long process of New Member Education process, so my time management skills are being tested once again, and so far, I think I’m doing well!

As most of Ohio got off of school on either Tuesday and Wednesday, so did Capital University! It was a nice feeling to take a break for a day and a half. Snow days at colleges are ten times better because you can just relax, catch up on homework, talk to friends and such without getting extra chores from your mother or having to shovel a driveway. Or, at least I think they are. =)

Spring break starts next Friday and I am pumped! I get to go to New York City over break and see a Broadway show! This will be my first time to New York, and I am really excited. Any suggestions on places I should visit?

I really cannot believe that I’m almost half-way through February. It seems like only awhile ago that I was saying that I can’t believe that it is almost February, and now we’re half way through the month! That means that after these next two weeks, there are only two more months left for me as a first-year at Capital, and around three months left until you seniors out there graduate, and the juniors will become seniors and then your journey will begin! Whew!

Well, I believe that’s really all I have for you. I hope you all are enjoying your Valentine’s Day. I am actually a bit too busy to think about the concept, so Saturday will be my Valentine’s Day…I’ll relax then. =)

Oh! I would also like to welcome Hillary Clinton to Columbus. I’m really sad that I don’t get to go see her, but hopefully I will sooner or later. (right, Kelly?)

Love and love and more love, (because it’s Valentine’s)

P.S. Does everyone know that there is going to be a full Lunar Eclipse next Wednesday. You should totally go outside and watch it, I know I am.

Congrats on joining Chi Theta Pi! I was wondering which residence hall you live in and if you like it. Is Cotterman just for freshman?

Hello, and thank you! I live in Cotterman, actually, and I absolutely love it. Cotterman is just for freshman, and it's a really great way to meet people, because in case you havent seen it, it's styled to have all the rooms around one big lounge area. That's where I first met a lot of my friends! All the residence halls are pretty nice, I just happened to be biased because I live in Cotterman. : D

    WHS Class of 69
    Capital Class of 73
Did you know that when Cotterman was built in 1970 that the university did not know what to call it. They just called it "New Women's Dorm" for years. A freshman girl could not live in it. It was only for upper classwomen. My wife did live in it the summer of 71 after her freshman year when she went to summer school for Nursing. She apreciated the AC.
My freshman year was spent in old Lehmann Hall. That's the big open space just west of the library. The walls were 16" thick and the ceilings had to be at least 10 ft. Heat was provided from the power plant through underground tunnels that run beneath the campus.
