Come join us in celebrating the 158th anniversary of Capital University’s charter, with special events each day this week.
On March 2, 1850, the Ohio Legislature granted a charter creating “a corporation for the promotion of religion, learning and morality to be known as Capital University.”
All week we will celebrate different aspects of Capital University, starting with free birthday cake. The university Bookstore and Library will display historical artifacts and highlight faculty publications during this week. The Bookstore also will have sales on select Capital University items all week. Each celebration day will include facts about Capital and the possibility for prizes. The grand prize this week will be an iPod touch.
The more events you attend (see below), the more chances you have to win.
March 3: Celebrate History – Join Interim Provost Ron St. Pierre and Vice President for Student Affairs Betty Lovelace for the cutting of the Capital University birthday cake at noon in the P.O. Prizes will be provided for correct answers to Capital University trivia at the cake cutting. You may also enter to win the grand prize at this event.
