(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)-Capital University junior wing Nate Stahl (St. Henry/St. Henry) and head coach Damon Goodwin head the All-Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball selections. Stahl was named the Mike Gregory OAC Player of the Year, while Goodwin earned Coach of the Year honors. Senior forward Steve Kyser (Sylvania/Southview) and junior Ryan Wood (Pickerington/Pickerington Central) were other Crusaders honored as each were named to the All-OAC Second Team.
Stahl is just the third player in school history and first since Tim Mueller in 1988 to be named OAC Player the Year. Stahl is a three-time All-OAC selection (second team in 2006 and first team in 2007 and 2008) who averages 12.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He leads the team with 26 steals and a .411 three-point shooting percentage.
Goodwin becomes the first coach in school history to be named OAC Coach of the Year three times. He is also first coach since Otterbein's Dick Reynolds in 1991 and 1992 to win the honor in back-to-back years. Goodwin has led the Crusaders to their second-straight OAC regular season title and NCAA Tournament appearance while matching the school record for wins in a season.
Kyser has started all 28 games for Capital this season and is the team's leading scorer and rebounder, while Wood also has started all 28 games, is second on the team in scoring and has made a team-best 63 three-pointers.
