Elsass, Richardson Honored By OAC

(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio) - Junior forward Caitlin Elsass (Batavia/Clermont Northeastern) and sophomore guard Kristen Richardson (Oxford/Talawanda) were named to the Ohio Athletic Conference's Second Team on Wednesday.

Elsass was among the league leaders in points (13.9 ppg), rebounding (7.6 rpg) and free throw percentage (.716). She hit almost 50 percent of her shots from the field (137-of-276, 49.6 percent), scoring a career high 30 points and grabbing a career-best 12 rebounds against Wittenberg earlier in the season. Elsass, a First-Team selection last year, also scored 28 points and added 11 rebounds in the OAC Tournament Semifinals against Baldwin-Wallace and increased both her scoring and rebounding output from last season.

Richardson led the Crusaders in scoring this year, averaging 14.8 points per game, an increase of over four points per game from last season. She also led the team in steals and was second in assists and third in rebounding. Richardson had a career-high 30 points against Otterbein in the regular season finale.
