FAFSA

We can help you.
Our goal is to help you bridge the gap between your family contribution and the cost of your educational expenses. Nearly all Capital students receive some financial assistance.

First you need to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By completing this application you will automatically be considered for most federal and state aid and all funds that Capital University offers.

What you must do.
You must do the following to apply for financial aid. Keep in mind filing early will generally provide you with the greatest access to all types of financial assistance. Look over our timeline for applications and decisions to know when you need to start planning your college finances.

Apply for a PIN with the U.S. Department of Education (USDE)
This personal identification number will let you use various USDE online systems. You must apply for a PIN in order to electronically sign your FAFSA. If you are dependent, your parents should also apply for their own PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA.

File the FAFSA electronically.
You will need Capital's Title IV Code, which is 003023. If you do not wish to file the FAFSA electronically, you can get paper copies of the form from your high school guidance offices beginning in December. Please be sure to file as soon as possible after January 1.
