An Exciting Ending to an Amazing Year!

I’ve had a pretty intense sophomore year at Capital! I’ve been thrown into many different leadership positions and have come out stronger and better because of them. I will be leaving the Greek Council Executive Board after this year, but I will never forget the lessons I have learned, the focus I have gained, and value of decisive action. It has been a rocky, yet rewarding year that has prepared me for more important leadership roles down the road. I wish the Executive Board for 08-09 luck and want them to know that our struggles this year were for the benefit of those who followed!

I did lose the election for President of the Kappa Sigma Upsilon Fraternity. It was a hard loss for me, much harder than I imagined. I believed that the issues I held most dear were the ones that the entire Fraternity did as well, and they may still be, but my Brothers believed that another candidate embodied those issues and values better than I did. For my Brothers, I would do anything, and I accept their judgment in this case. I was once again elected Vice President of Standards, a position that allows me the opportunity to be remain a major influence in guiding KSU. I hope that my experience on Greek Council Executive Board will also be seen as valuable, and the organization will appoint me as one of the two Greek Council Representatives from KSU.

However, not all news is bad! I was elected to the Student Government Senate as a member of the powerful Finance, Planning, and Development Committee! Receiving the largest percentage of the vote cast, I will be representing all students and doing my best to allocate funds to all the different student organizations, helping develop new student organizations, and doing whatever the students of Capital University want! I truly believe that we can increase the visibility of Student Government on Capital’s campus and do so much more to make student life the best it can be!

Lastly, I was made an Orientation Leader for this Summer and Fall! I will be helping the Class of 2012 “orient” themselves to college life here in Columbus! It is a position of major responsibility, one which I take with great pride and excitement. I hope that I get a few of my faithful blog-readers in my Orientation Group ;)

It has truly been a year to grow as a campus leader and I’m proud of all the accomplishments that I have been a part of! Now, I need to get back to my finals! Good luck with yours!

And as always…Stay Classy =D
