(COLUMBUS, Ohio) -- Former Capital University football player Matt Spitz (Xenia/Xenia) earned an invitation to compete at the SC Elite Combine June 13-14 at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA.
Spitz made 15 field goals in the 2007 season and ranks in the top-five in Division III history in field goals made and percentage. He earned All-American honors in 2006 and was a three-time All-OAC and All-Region selection. He placed among the top 10 percent of 40 kickers at a regional combine held in Washington D.C. to qualify for the elite combine.
The 2008 SC ELITE Combine, the nation's premier scouting event for free-agents and undrafted seniors, features prospects from around the country working out for NFL, CFL, and AFL scouts. First held in 2005, almost 40 players have signed professional contracts following the combines.
