(STARKVILLE, Miss.)--Capital University senior Lindsay Shepherd was named to the Louisville Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Assocation All-Central Region Team for a fourth-straight season.

(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio)--Capital University senior Lindsay Shepherd (Phillipsburg/Northmont), sophomore Brittany Stefano (Uniontown/Lake) and freshman Ashley Daugherty (Reynoldsburg/Pickerington Central) were each named to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Teams by the league's 10 coaches.

(ADA, Ohio)--Capital University's softball season came to an end Saturday with a pair of losses 5-4 and 12-4 at Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio. The Crusaders, 23-16 overall, finish OAC play with a 10-8 record and will just miss qualifying for the four-team OAC Tournament.

(LEXINGTON, Ky.)--Capital University sophomore Brittany Stefano (Uniontown/Lake) pitched a complete game four-hitter, striking out eight batters and hit her first home run of the year in an 8-3 win in game one of a doubleheader at Transylvania (Ky.) University in Lexington, Ky. The Crusaders did not fair as well in the nightcap falling 3-1.

(SALISBURY, Md.)--Capital University's softball team scored four unanswered runs for a 6-5 come from behind win over Wilson (Pa.) College, but could not come back again as they fell 6-2 to Salisbury (Md.) University at the Sea Gull Invitational in Salisbury, Md.

(TUCSON, Ariz.)--Sophomore pitcher Brittany Stefano (Uniontown/Lake) had a season-best 13 strikeouts in a complete game 2-0 victory over Texas Lutheran University Friday in Tucson, Arizona. The Crusaders, who fell 4-3 to Trinity International (Ill.) University, are currently 4-4 on the season.

(TUCSON, Ariz.)--Capital University's softball team was on the opposite end of a pair shutouts Friday in Tucson, Arizona. The Crusaders beat Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology, 1-0, then fell to Briar Cliff (Iowa) College, 2-0.

(TUSCON, Ariz.)--Capital University's softball scored a 1-0 extra inning win over St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College, then rallied late before losing 4-3 to NCAA Division II Adams State (Colo.) College in a season opening doubleheader in Tuscon, Arizona.

Capital University’s softball team, coming off of a 25-17 record, will look to improve upon their third place finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference behind the mix of a strong senior class and a solid group of young players.

(STARKVILLE, Miss.)--Capital University senior softball player Lindsay Shepherd (Phillipsburg/Northmont) has been given the 2007 NCAA Division III Golden Shoe Award sponsored by adidas and the National Fastpitch Coaches Association. The award is given annually to the nation's top baserunners.
