Academic Life In the classroom, students learn from caring faculty members who are able to provide a challenging, yet supportive, quality education. The 9:1 overall student-faculty ratio allows students easy access to professors outside the classroom setting. Multicultural Education Recognizing the importance of diversity in a global world, Capital offers academic minors in ethnic studies and African American/African studies as a reflection of the university's commitment to multicultural education. These minors are designed to provide opportunities for the systematic study of American ethnic groups, as well as the study of the African heritage of African Americans. Multicultural Affairs Office The Multicultural Affairs Office (MAO) serves as a resource to the university and students. In conjunction with other programming entities, this office facilitates culturally diverse programs and activities on campus. MAO offers all Capital students many resources, including the Multicultural Resource Center where students can check out books, magazines and videos for use on class projects or just for personal enjoyment. |
