student life

It's easy to get involved at Capital because there's always something to do.

Grab your friends and some popcorn to watch a movie in the Bridge. Volunteer for a political campaign. Laugh your worries away at Wicked Wednesday. Reflect in the Chapel at Thursday Candlelight. Catch a Chapel Choir concert. Cheer the Crusaders on to victory. Spend spring break building houses with Habitat for Humanity.

College is a great time to try new things while gaining valuable social, organizational and leadership skills that will serve you throughout your life, no matter what career path you take.

The Student Activities Office offers many opportunities for students to take advantage of everything that Capital life has to offer. All students – yes, even freshmen – are encouraged to join organizations, start new clubs and become a part of student life at Capital.

There's even an organization especially for first-year students. You and other members of your class will be Corps 2013 The group is designed to connect students to student organizations and to the university as a whole. Corps 2013 provides a transition for high school leaders and assists them in becoming involved and staying involved on campus. Corps 2013 also provides various social and educational programs for new students, such as the annual Christmas tree lighting and Capfest.

Corps 2013 serves as the "student government" for first-year students, and its members are the advocates for first-year students at Capital University.

The Student Activities staff also takes advantage of our Columbus location for off-campus entertainment. Students root on National Hockey League and Major League Soccer teams, attend Broadway shows, browse the local art gallery scene and shop for bargains at the area malls.
