Athletic Camps

Capital University's administration takes its responsibility to Bexley and the surrounding communities seriously and is proud to sponsor a number of athletic camps aimed at improving the skills of student athletes of all ages.

Hosted at the Capital Center, a state of the art athletic facility completed in 2001, the athletic camps and clinics include:

  • Capital Track & Field Clinic. This camp is offered to high school students grades 9-11 and focuses on introducing young track and field athletes to college-level coaching.   • Nan Payne's Capital Crusader Softball Camp. This camp is open to girls entering grades 5-12 and will include aspects of infielding, outfielding, hitting, pitching and catching. Camp director is Nan Payne. For more information please contact Coach Payne at (614) 236-6487 or npayne@capital.edu

  • Capital Pitching & Catching Clinics. These camps are open to girls in grades 5-12 and will teach the fundamentals of catching and pitching to girls of any skill level or ability.   • Capital Hitting and Bunting Clinic. This clinic is open to girls in grades 5-12 and will demonstrate techniques used in hitting and bunting and promote the development of these skills.   • Capital University Softball Fall League. This league is open to girls in grades 7-12 and includes a skill assessment, as well as doubleheaders and a tournament.   • Dixie Jeffers' Lady Crusader Basketball Camp. This camp is open to girls entering grades 5-9. A shooting camp will be offered for girls in grades 5-10. The camp will stress basketball fundamentals. Dixie Jeffers will be director of this camp. For more information, please contact Coach Jeffers at (614) 236-6551 or djeffers@capital.edu.

  • Capital Basketball Camp. This camp is open to boys grades 3-10. Each camper will complete and learn with other campers of the same age and ability. The camp will focus on teaching fundamental skills and sportsmanship. The camp's director will be Damon Goodwin.   • Lady Crusader Volleyball Camp. This camp is open to girls in grades 6-11 and focuses on learning the techniques of passing, setting, attacking, blocking, serving and defense.   • Capital Soccer Academy. This clinic is open to any player ages 6-18 and aims to improve a player's technique in passing, controlling, dribbling, shooting and heading.
