I can’t believe how fast this summer flew by! I feel like I didn’t do much, when in reality, I was actually quite busy. I worked, hung out with friends and family, went to the beach, a couple family reunions, visited a friend in Bowling Green, went to Shakespeare in the Park, read a lot of books, and was addicted to So You Think You Can Dance. Mainly, however, I just relaxed and enjoyed the warm weather.

Here's me in Myrtle Beach with my sister!
In just a little over a week, I get to move back to school!!!!! Words can not describe how excited I am to see my Roomie, and all of my friends and sisters!! Even though I saw some of them this summer, there’s nothing like living on campus and always being surrounded by all of them. :) At the same time, moving back to Cap means moving away from my family. :) It’s always hard to leave them. I am thankful though that they are so close and I can talk to them on the phone any time. Love you guys!!

Me and My Roomie!

With some of my Pi Phi sisters!
This semester, I am really looking forward to my classes as well. I feel like I’ve got my schedule balanced perfectly. I’m taking three core classes (Psychology, Religion, and Global Awareness) and I’m taking three classes that pertain to my major and minors (Survey of Amer. Lit., Newswriting, and Intro to P.R.). On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, my classes don’t start until noon, and on Tuesday and Thursday, I’m done by 10:45!
Having all those blocks of time free, I am able to work in the Admissions Office this school year! Therefore, if you haven’t visited Capital yet, you should schedule a visit! Myself, or another student worker, will give you a personal tour and you can also meet with your admissions counselor while you are on campus. To schedule a visit at Capital, you can call our admissions office toll-free at 1-866-544-6175 or you can schedule online. Visiting campus is usually the best way to see if it’s the right place for you, so I’m looking forward to seeing you in our office this year!

Yay for Summer Admissions Office Workers!
For those of you who are in the Class of 2012, get excited!!! You are about to enter a whole new chapter of your life! Not only are you moving on campus and starting classes, but you are going to meet a TON of new people. The best advice that I would give you for coming to Cap would be to keep an open mind and definitely think about joining some kind of organization on campus. I know that you are going to have a blast this year, so GOOD LUCK with everything!!!
Wow, I know, this was extremely long but I just had so much to say. :)
Therefore, I’m going to leave you with 5 things that I learned this summer.
1.) Everything on CNN is breaking news---even things that happened yesterday.
2.) Nothing makes you happier than putting your feet in the ocean, or just walking on the beach.
3.) Life happens, you just have to roll with the punches.
4.) The transition from strangers to friends is remarkably fast! :)
5.) As much as you loved them as a kid, you get sick of eating microwave meals really fast…
