(AUSTINTOWN, Ohio) – The Ohio Athletic Conference will unveil its 2008 OAC Football Preview Show this week on SportsTime Ohio and its affiliates. The broadcasts will be televised Thursday through Sunday and feature each of the 10 OAC football programs including the Capital Crusaders.
The 30-minute show that was produced by the Ohio Athletic Conference Office will be aired at least four times on SportsTime Ohio. Air times are Thursday (Aug. 21) at 11:30 p.m. ET, Friday (Aug. 22) at Noon ET, Saturday (Aug. 23) at 6:00 p.m. ET and Sunday (Aug. 24) at 2:30 p.m. ET. The same preview show is likely to run on SportsTime Ohio and other channels in the following weeks, but the schedule has not yet been released.
SportsTime Ohio is a Northern Ohio regional sports network reaching 2.7 million homes and designed to offer a variety of sports programming produced for the Ohio sports fan. STO's initial venture was the largest television package in Cleveland Indians team history. STO offers 150 Indians games annually with ALL games in HD starting in 2008. Beginning July 1, 2007 STO became the official cable home of the Cleveland Browns offering Browns fans 52 weeks of Browns coverage. STO is also the television home of the OHSAA football and basketball playoffs and championships. Additional programming is geared specifically toward Ohio-area sports fans and the passion that makes the region the greatest sports community.
Capital is ranked seventh nationally in both the USA Today and d3football.com Preseason Polls after making its third straight NCAA postseason appearance as part of a 8-3 campaign in 2007. The Crusaders were also eighth in the Lindy's Preseason Poll and No. 14 in the Sporting News Preseason Poll while being selected to finish second in the OAC Preseason Media Poll and third in the OAC Preseason Coaches Poll one week ago.
Capital will begin its 85th season of competition and its first under the guidance of head coach Jim Bickel by playing host to Adrian (Mich.) College on Sat., Sept. 6 at Bernlohr Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET.
