Greetings Blog Readers!
It’s time for the 08-09 school year! Where did this summer go? For the class of 2009, where did the last three years go? I’ve had this little blog corner of capital.edu since my Freshman year, and it is hard to believe that I now a SENIOR! It is absolutely crazy to me. I’m sure my fellow Cappers of 2009 can attest to the disbelief of our incoming situation.
For those of you about to embark on moving in and Orientation, have a blast! It is a week to remember, and I look back on August of 2005 with fond memories. Go to all the activities, get to know your roommate, don’t stress about classes and KEEP YOUR DOOR OPEN! That is the best advice I can give anyone. Find other people in your building who have their doors open and don’t hesitate to walk in and introduce yourself. You’d be surprised who you can meet. Once you get used to this openness and your comfort zone is expanded, you’ll find there are MANY others who are feeling what you’re feeling and who are looking to make friends as well!
I am really looking forward to being back on campus! Its been a great week at home, but there is only so much of my time that can be filled with Olympic coverage. Boy have I watched a lot! My cousin is getting married this weekend, but I’m excited to drive to Columbus on Sunday and move into the Capital Commons- My first year not in a residence hall! I have always been over involved and overscheduled at Capital- and this year is no different! I am this year’s Executive Director of University Programming and one of two Senior Interns in the Admissions Office….on top of classes, my involvement with Pi Phi Epsilon and all the other fun stuff I find myself experiencing at Capital!
