CRUSADERS READY FOR SEASON OPENER SATURDAY

Capital plays host to Adrian to open the 2008 season on Saturday. On campus festivities begin with a student tailgate at 11 a.m. while anyone can follow the game live with a radio feed over the internet.

The Crusaders enter the season ranked seventh nationally and take on an Adrian squad that finished 7-3 last season.

All Capital students are invited to take part in a pregame tailgate sponsored by the Capital University Student Government Association (SGA) and Student-Athlete Advisory Board (SAAC) held inside the Capital Center Fieldhouse beginning at 11 a.m.  Food will be available and every student will have the chance to win prizes in three competitions.  The top two finishers of the Hula Hoop, Free Throw Shooting and Cornhole competitions will earn prizes provided by Capital University corporate sponsors.  CU undergraduate students will also have the opportunity to sign up for a chance to take part in a halftime field goal kicking competition to be held live on the field.

Crusader fans around the globe can follow Capital football throughout the season with live radio broadcasts on WFCO 90.9 FM that will also be simulcast on www.CapitalCrusaders.net.  Every broadcast will begin 30 minutes prior to game time with the Capital Countdown pregame show.  Matt Waddell will handle the play-by-play duties with Matt D’Orazio on color and Chris Solwecki on the sidelines.
