Hello again! Sorry it’s been so long since my last posting, but with school starting, I’ve been going full stride since day one. Wow, I can’t believe it’s already the third week of school, it’s seems like only yesterday I was moving in. So far this year at Capital has been amazing! I’m living in the Commons this year, which are town houses that Capital owns that you can live in your Junior and Senior years here at Cap. I currently have two other roommates with my own kitchen, bathroom, living, and dining rooms! As much as I loved life in the resident halls, being in here is even better! The next greatest thing is having my brother on campus now, I thought going to the same college would be a disaster, but I’m actually glad that he decided to come here, just like the rest of the class of 2012!

The first three weeks back at Capital have been very exciting and busy. Just getting use to being back on campus and the workload. This is the first semester I’m taking just music classes, which has really helped me to discover that this is what I want to do with the rest of my life. The classes are hard, but I’m studying and practicing things that I enjoy, so it isn’t as bad. I think the biggest challenge that I have taken on for my Junior year is signing up to do a junior recital next semester. As a Music Education major you are required to give a Senior recital sometime during your senior year to graduate. You also have the option of doing a Junior half recital if you would like, but it’s not required. It took a lot of debating with myself, but I finally convinced myself that it will be worth all the work and hard effort. I’m hoping for it to be sometime in March, so stay tuned for updates! You all are invited of course.

Being back at Capital isn’t all just studying and practicing, it is also a time to reunite with friends I haven’t seen all summer, and meet new ones along the way. It is great to see the Class of 2012 so involved on Campus. I constantly see their shirts several events! Being a part of a student organization is amazing, it’s a wonderful way to make friends, I highly encourage it. I am involved with Campus Congregation, which helps out with the church services, and puts on other activities and services throughout Campus. This past summer Capital has the pleasure of hiring a new Pastor. She is quite an amazing person that is more than willing to help out wherever she can. If you have yet to meet her, I encourage you all to at least to go in and say hi. I am also involved in FISCh, which is Friends in Serving Christ, we do retreats to all types of age groups. The most exciting thing from here is that we already have a retreat booked in November! I am very excited for this and can’t wait to go out.

Well I guess this is enough for now, in closing I just want to welcome everyone back to Capital, and to the Class of 2012, welcome for the first time! If you have any questions feel free to send a comment or an email at alugar@capital.edu.

Till next time!
