CAPITAL PLACES 10TH AT OAC FALL INVITATIONAL

TIFFIN, Ohio – The Capital University men’s golf used consistent play to finish 10th out of 11 teams at the 2008 Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational on Monday at Mohawk Golf Club.

 

Capital tallied a team total of 650 to finish one shot shy of ninth place Ohio Northern (649) and seven shots back of eighth place Mount Union (643).  John Carroll won the team title with a combined score of 596.

 

Sophomore Jordan Flack (Chillicothe, Ohio/Huntington HS) led the Crusaders with a combined score of 155.  He carded an 80 in the first round and a 75 in the second to tie for 15th place individually out of 66 total golfers.

 

Junior Dan Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto HS) tied for 31st place with a total of 162.  His first round score of 79 was the 17th best of the opening round.

 

Classmate James Koon (Bexley, Ohio/Bexley HS) fired an 83 followed by an 81 to finish in a tie for 43rd place with a 164.

 

Fellow junior Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla./Palmetto HS) tied for 53rd place after carding scores of 85 and 84 in the two rounds of play.

 

Junior Chas Manning (Granville, Ohio/Granville HS) rounded out the CU competitors with a total of 182 after scores of 89 and 93.

 

The Crusaders will play host to the Capital Fall Classic on Sunday at Westchester Golf Club.
