NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Capital men’s golf team placed sixth at the 36-hole Muskingum Fall Invitational held at Eagle Sticks Golf Club on Monday.
After a majority of Sunday’s play was suspended due to darkness many teams were forced to finish the first round and then play the second on Monday at the Par 70, 6,508 yard course.
Capital concluded with a combined team score of 638, which was only four shots back of fifth place Wilmington (634).
Junior Daniel Zaborsky (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Scioto HS) paced the Crusaders with a 73 in the first round and 75 in the second round to total 148 and tie for 10th place out of 45 competitors.
Classmate Andy Garcia (Miami, Fla./Palmetto HS) followed with a 77 and an 81 to card a 158 to finish in a tie for 27th position.
Freshman Cameron Baker (Lima, Ohio/Spencerville HS) posted a total of 160 after rounds of 82 and 78 to tie for 31st place.
Fellow freshman Stephen Moller (London, Ohio/Madison Plains HS) placed 41st after rounds of 90 and 82 which combined for a 172 total score.
CU returns to action at the 36-hole Wittenberg Invitational on Tuesday and the Ohio Northern Invitational on Friday.
