ALLIANCE, Ohio – Visiting Capital slid to 2-2 in Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball play with an 0-3 (23-25, 23-25, 18-25) loss at Mount Union on Tuesday night.
Capital (18-5 overall, 2-2 OAC) was out hit by Mount Union (17-6, 3-1 OAC) .321 to .175 and was outblocked 6.0 to 4.0.
Senior Jackie Helm (Lancaster, Ohio/Fisher Catholic HS) led the Crusaders with eight kills to go along with 15 digs and two blocks.
Junior libero Sara Doebel (Clyde, Ohio/Clyde HS) finished with 16 digs to pace the CU defense while adding one service ace.
Classmate Jenna Zumberger (DeGraff, Ohio/Fairlawn HS) had 16 assists and a service ace of her own for Capital, which returns to action on Friday against OAC rival Otterbein at 7 p.m. ET.
