COLUMBUS, Ohio – Homestanding Capital was shutout for just the second time this season as the Crusaders lost to Ohio Northern, 1-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference men’s soccer action on Wednesday afternoon. With the loss, CU fell to 7-4-0 overall and 1-1-0 in OAC play.
The Crusaders were out shot by the Polar Bears, 23-14 and took just three corner kicks to ONU’s six in the match.
Ohio Northern tallied to only goal of the day when Christian Huelsman fed a pass to Nate Bascom who scored from just in front of the net in the 18th minute.
Capital had a number of quality scoring chances at the end of the first half, but could not score the equalizer.
Sophomore Justin Bultman (Maineville, Ohio/Kings HS) made five saves in goal for the Crusaders who return to action on Saturday at Muskingum beginning at 3 p.m. ET.
