AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Capital University wide receiver Derick Alexander garnered Ohio Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors following a career day Saturday against Muskingum.
Alexander (Grove City, Ohio/Grove City HS) tied a school record on his own senior day with three touchdown receptions to go along with a season-best 161 yards receiving on six catches. He finished the day with 267 all-purpose yards including a 77-yard touchdown reception, which was the fifth-longest reception in program history. Overall this season, Alexander has made 39 catches for 656 yards (82.0 ypg) with six touchdowns through the air. He leads the Crusaders with 1,153 all-purpose yards.
Capital returns to action with a trip to Ada, Ohio to face Ohio Northern on Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET.
