AUSTINTOWN, Ohio - Senior guard
Ryan Wood (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central HS) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week following his MVP performance at the Case Western Alumni Tip-Off Tournament last week.
Wood, an all-conference performer last season, scored a game-high 18 points on 5-of-8 shooting in Capital's 70-63 victory over Bluffton Friday. He followed that up with a 24 point effort in Saturday's victory against Monmouth (Ill.) by hitting 8-of-13 shots from the field, including 6-of-8 from 3-point range.
Wood, who leads the team with 21 points per game, is shooting 61.9 percent from the field and 61.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Capital returns to action at 7 p.m. Tuesday night as the Crusaders play host to Wittenberg University in non-conference action. For live audio and live stats, go to www.capitalcrusaders.net.
