Nursing Transfer Students

Prospective Nursing Transfer Student Admission Criteria

  • Regional accreditation of prior college(s) or university(ies)

  • Cumulative GPA from all prior institutions of 3.5 or better

  • Prior course work in the sciences to be applied to Capital's nursing curriculum must have an overall average of 2.75 or better and have been completed within the last 5 years. The following courses are recommended prior to admission: Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Statistics, Human nutrition, Psychology, Organic or Biochemistry and Lifespan development.

  • If enrolled in another nursing program, a letter of recommendation is required by the Dean of Nursing

  • Transfer students need to have a completed application submitted to the Capital University Admission Office no later than March to be considered for the Fall semester.

Due to the large number of applications and limited seats, we will hold all completed transfer nursing applications until the end of June. At that time we will review our nursing enrollment to determine if we have space.

Advanced Placement Criteria

(This option is for the transfer student with prior admission and course work from another accredited BSN program who is considering transfer to Capital's BSN program to complete the degree. This option is not for licensed RN's.)
