COLUMBUS, Ohio - Junior guard Kristen Richardson (Oxford, Ohio/Talawanda HS) scored 13 of her game-high 17 points in the second half, and Capital University's women's basketball team knocked off No. 14/12 Baldwin-Wallace College 51-42 to start Ohio Athletic Conference action Saturday at The Capital Center.
The Crusaders led 22-21 at halftime after forcing 13 Yellow Jacket turnovers in the first half, and jumped out to a 30-24 lead in the second half after Richardson's jumper.
B-W came back and took a 33-32 lead seven minutes into the frame, but Capital answered with a decisive 15-4 run over the next eight and a half minutes to open up a 47-37 advantage following a layup by senior forward Daniele Sanna (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington HS). Sanna had six points in that stretch and Richardson added five.
