#10 CAPITAL SHOCKED BY WILMINGTON, 82-53

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The 10th-ranked Capital University men’s basketball team suffered its first loss of the season with an 82-53 defeat at Wilmington in Ohio Athletic Conference play on Thursday.

 

Capital (6-1, 1-1 OAC) had just one player reach double figures in scoring as it shot just 32.2 percent (19-of-59) from the field.  CU was also outscored 30-18 in the paint and 22-10 in points off turnovers.

 

Senior Nate Stahl (St. Henry, Ohio/St. Henry HS) tallied a team-high 11 points on 4-for-9 shooting from the floor in 28 minutes of play.

 

Classmate Casey Brown (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Ready HS) followed with nine points, four rebounds and one assist in 19 minutes of action.

 

Sophomore DJ Frazier (Cincinnati, Ohio/Withrow HS) and senior Quintin Mitchell (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo Libbey HS) each added eight points for the Crusaders.

 

Capital returns home to play host to OAC rival John Carroll at the Capital Center on Saturday.  Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
