Summer Orientation 2009

Welcome to the Capital University Class of 2013!  The orientation staff is excited about having you participate in the Summer 2009 Orientation program.  We have an exciting program designed to:

• Introduce you to college life and academic expectations
• Register you for classes
• Answer all your financial questions
• Showcase the dining experience
• Introduce you to other students in your college and major
• Introduce you to the faculty and staff
• Prepare your parents or guardians for the transition
• Show you how fun your Capital University experience will be!!

The orientation sessions are designed around your intended major and school.   The summer orientation program is free to students, but there is a charge of $30.00 for each guest/parent.  This fee includes all meals, receptions, materials, special sessions, and a Capital University tote bag.  All sessions will be capped at 110 student participants.

You will be sent a separate mailing in April about an online Math Placement exam.  You will need to complete this exam prior to attending your orientation session since it will be used to assign you to the appropriate math class.  Certain majors will also require the completion of a Modern Languages Placement exam at summer orientation.  You will be notified by the orientation staff if your major requires this placement exam.

Orientation days start as early as 8 am for those that need to take a placement exam, but will end by 5 pm for everyone. Please plan accordingly so you will be able to get the most out of your visit.  There is a separate program track for parents or guardians to answer their questions and help with the transition of their student.

Participation in Summer Orientation is mandatory for all new students.  Please contact the orientation office at orientation@capital.edu or 614-236-6901 if you cannot make one of the sessions this summer due to schedule conflicts
